Nixdorf, Marie Ida (11 July 1873 - 21 Jan. 1949)

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Nixdorf, who died Friday, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at St. Peter’s Lutheran church, Dorchester, with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating. Internment was made in Memorial cemetery. Nephews of the deceased acted as pallbearers.

Marie Ida Schause was born in Mequon, Wisconsin, July 11, 1873. She came with her parents to Dorchester in 1893 and was married at Dorchester, June 21, 1896, to Albert Nixdorf. The first three years of their married life were lived at Ashland and then they came to a farm, one-half mile south of Dorchester corners.

After Mr. Nixdorf’s death, in 1936, Mrs. Nixdorf moved to the village of Dorchester, Wis.

For the past two years, she has been in ill health and since last October she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Arnold Waldhart, Stetsonville. On Dec. 9, she was admitted to St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, and death came Friday afternoon.

She is survived by five children, Edwin Nixdorf, and Mrs. Arnold (Eina) Waldhart, Stetsonville; Herbert Nixdorf, Athens; Mrs. Fred (Eleanora) Neidhold, Chicago; and Clarence Nixdorf, of Hawley, Minn. All the children, except Clarence, were here for the funeral.

Two daughters preceded their parents in death.

There are also ten grand children, two great grand children, four sisters and four brothers who survive.

Among those from Abbotsford who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Woempner, Mrs. Henry Huehscher, Mrs. John Bremer, Sr., and Mrs. Anna Baehr, and her sister, Emma Ewert, of Fond du Lac.
