Rued, Matt Anderson (22 Jan. 1858 - 4 Feb. 1949)

Funeral services were conducted at the Evangelical Lutheran church at Curtiss, at 2:00 p.m. Monday for Matt A. Rued, 91, who died at his home in the town of Hoard at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. G. E. Borreson officiated at the rites and burial was made in the Evangelical Lutheran cemetery.

Matt Anderson Rued was born Jan. 22, 1858 in Gausdal, Norway. In 1880 he came to America and began farming in the town of Hoard. He returned to Norway in 1888. On March 19, 1889, he married Randi Holsaeter and came back to America. They settled on the farm where they lived ever since. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in March, 1939.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ness, Santa Monica, Calif.; and Agnes, Town of Hoard; two sons, Axel, Curtiss; and Paul, Big Lake, Minn.; 11 grand children and 7 great-grand children.
