  Babich, Mary (1 DEC 1945)

Miss Mary Babich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Babich of West Allis, was married to Donald Shupe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Shupe of Loyal, at St. Augustine church in West Allis at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.

The bride’s gown was of white brocaded satin, styled with a train. She wore a fingertip veil and carried a bouquet of white roses and chrysanthemums, with white streamers. Her jewelry was a gold cross and earrings. She carried a white rosary.

Miss Mathilda Babich, serving as her sister’s maid of honor, wore a yellow gown and a shoulder length veil, and the bridesmaid, Miss Audrey Gernitzky, wore a blue gown and a shoulder length veil of blue. Both maid of honor and bridesmaid carried bouquets similar to that of the bride and wore earrings which were gifts of the bride.

Lawrence Shupe, brother of the groom, served as his best man and Elmer Gall, a cousin of the groom, also served as an attendant..

A chicken dinner was served to nearest relatives at the Hillside restaurant, the bride’s table being centered with a wedding cake. In the evening a reception was held in Kraly’s ballroom, and lunch was served to over 150 friends and relatives.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Shupe are employed in Milwaukee, the groom at the Press-Steel factory and the bride at Suchert’s factory. They expect to make their home in West Allis.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Shupe and sons, Lawrence and Jerry, and daughters, Evelyn and Mary Ann, attended the wedding.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
