Sparks, Arthur (20 October 1884 -2 April 1952)

Arthur Sparks, 67, of Wisconsin Rapids died last Wednesday at his home after being confined to bed the past three months. A retired farmer, he moved there from Clark County in 1947.

Funeral Services were held Saturday afternoon at the Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerrit De Motts officiating. Burial was in Clark County in the Town of Sherwood Cemetery.

Mr. Sparks was born in Clark County on October 20, 1884, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sparks, and married Sophie Eggen there on July 10, 1911. He served as fire warden and assessor of the Town of Sherwood for many years.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Henry Sparks, one daughter, Mrs. Harlan Tague, and two brothers, Jess and George Sparks, all of Wisconsin Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Emma Calkins of Almond, and five grandchildren. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
