LIS, Donna Mae "Dolly" (30 MAY 1932 - 23 JUN 2009)


Donna Mae Lis, age 77, of 104 Soderburg Dr., Thorp, WI passed away on June 23, 2009 at Our Lade of Victory Hospital in Stanley, WI. Private graveside service will be held on Sat., June 27, 2009 at St Mary's Cemetery in Huron, Town of Colburn. Plombon Funeral Service is assisting the family.

 

Donna Mae "Dolly" Lis was born on May 30,1932 in NE Mpls., MN the daughter of Andrew & Cecelia (O'Connor) Malark, the 8th of 12 children. She grew up there and attended St. Anthony School. She was later married to Bruno "Danny" Lis and they lived and farmed in the Town of Colburn until 1974 when the purchased the "Fox' Den" Tavern in the Town of Taft which she operated for over 30 years until retirement. She so enjoyed her many customer's (sic) which became her family & friends.

 

She is survived by 2 daughters, Shirley (Jim) Cox & Gloria (Greg) Steivang, both of Stanley, WI; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; her 3 brothers, Richard (Audrey) Malark, Raymond (Margaret) Malark & Kenneth (Lori) Malark; 1 sister, Margaret (Tom) Strauss; sister-in-law, Betty Malark, all of NE Mpls., MN; plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan in 2001; grandson, Billy Cox; brothers, John, Robert, James & George; sisters, Mary Ellen, Caroline & Ann Rose.


Dolly will be sadly missed by family and friends.
