Beardsley, Myrtle #2 (9 JUN 1909)

Yesterday afternoon at 6 o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Beardsley, Rev. Scoville united in marriage Mr. William Huntley and Miss Myrtle Beardsley.  The ceremony was witnessed by the families of the contracting parties only.  The Beardsley residence  was very prettily decorated for the occasion with carnations and smilax and the ceremony was performed beneath a white bell trimmed with smilax.  The bride wore a white net gown over white silk, trimmed with broadcloth and Irish point lace.  Miss Grace Harriman played Mendelssohn’s  wedding march.  A splendid supper was served after the bride and groom had been duly congratulated.

Mr. Huntley is a son of Mayor and Mrs. William Huntley and is engaged in the monument business in this city (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.).  Bill is a genial whole-souled fellow, one of the best, for to know Bill is be his friend.  His bride is one of the most charming and winsome young ladies in the city.  She is a graduate of the high school, and for several years held a position in the W. J. Marsh store, to the entire satisfaction of her employer.  She is exceptionally well equipped to do her part in the establishment of a happy home.  Mr. and Mrs. Huntley will go to housekeeping at once in their recently purchased home.  It is the very sincere wish of their host of friends that Mr. and Mrs. Huntley enjoy a long and happy married life, and that the blessing bestowed upon them will be many.  It is entirely probable that they were made the recipients of a stupendous charivari last night, for Bill’s friends want this occasion to be one long remembered.
