Goeden (Goeden), Peter #2 (8 MAY 1859 - 7 APR 1910)

 

Died - Peter Goeden, Thursday, April 7, 1910, aged 51 years.

 

Deceased was born at Newburg, Washington Co., Wis., in 1859.  On Dec. 11, 1883 he was united in marriage to Miss Lena Reitzel, and two children, William and Clara, were born to them.  About sixteen years ago Mr. Goeden removed to Lynn, this county (Clark), where he engaged in the hotel business.  He lived at Lynn for about 14 years, and about a year ago traded his Lynn Hotel for a hotel here, the Neillsville House, taking possession of his new property just one year ago on the day of his death.  Mr. Goeden was a man of large physique, but after an illness of but a few days he succumbed to pneumonia.  He is survived by his wife and two children, one grandchildren, and brothers, William of Neillsville, Peter of Hoven, N.D., and Mike of West Bend.

 

Mr. Goeden was a man who was well liked in this community.  As he was large of frame, he was large of heart, and was a kind husband and father, points which go  long way toward making a successful life.  He was a good businessman and had a great many friend here.  Mr. Goeden was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and also the Kreiger Verein.  The funeral was held Monday morning, services beings conducted by Father Dorrenbach.  Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery.  Mr. and Mrs. Mike Goeden were here for the funeral.
