Marg, Keith Walter (25 December 1941 - 9 June 2009) With Flag

 

Keith Marg, 67, of Neillsville died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, in the Emergency Room of the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

 

Keith Walter Marg was born Dec. 25, 1941, in Neillsville, the son of Kurt and Edna (Barr) Marg.  He graduated from Neillsville High School and then enlisted into the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War.  Upon his discharge from the military in 1966, Keith returned home to help run the family business, which was then Marg’s Fox Food.  They raised fox and eventually turned the business into raising mink and renamed the business Marg’s Fur Food.  Later, they would get into the dog food business and become a rendering plant. All the while they were running their business, they also farmed on 300 acres of land.  After Kurt died, Keith took over the daily operations of the business.  He retired in the early 1990s.

 

Keith was a member of the Pine Valley Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville.  He had been a member of the Neillsville Gun Club and the Neillsville Pool Leagues.

 

He is survived by his aunt, Betty Marg of Black River Falls, many cousins and many other relatives.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles.

 

A memorial service for Keith was held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at the Pine Valley Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 .m.  Pastor Keith Lueneburg officiated.  Music was provided by Virginia Karnitz, organist.  Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Neillsville Veterans Council.
