Dale Edward Schultz was born July 29, 1947, in Neillsville, the son of Elmer and Grace (Christensen) Schultz. He grew up on the family farm in Granton and received his education in the Granton area, graduating from Granton High School in 1965. After completing high school, Dale drove semi-truck and hauled for many employers in Wisconsin. He bought the family farm in 1994, and after retiring from driving semi-truck in 1995, raised beef cattle on the home farm. He also owned and operated Custom Products, where he built green chop cattle feeders, hayracks and did a lot of custom welding for the Amish. Dale sold the farm in 2003 and moved to a home, east of Loyal, where he resided until his death.

He was a lifelong member of Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton, and had many interests, but especially loved spending time with and picking on his grandkids, hunting, fishing, bowling and playing cards.

Dale will be dearly missed by his wife, Janette, of Loyal; five children, Brenda Short (Jesse Schneider) of Pittsville, Lori Hainz (Richard Mayer) of Marshfield, Dawn (Terry) Foss of Granton, SSgt. Scott (Shelly) Schultz of Fort Carson, Colo., and James (Pam) Schultz of Spencer; 10 grandchildren, Michael Short, Brooke and Alex Hainz, Courtney Foss, Whitney, Dominic and Makenzie Schultz, Desiree, Breuna and Lily Schultz; one brother, Eugene Schultz of Chippewa Falls; one niece, Theresa (Lester Jr.) Kuehn of Granton; and one great-niece, Kyia Hernandez.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry.
