GREENWOOD, WIS. -- Donald A. Wells, 86, of Greenwood, Wisconsin died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield. 
 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood. Burial will follow in the Greenwood City Cemetery. 
 

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Cuddie Funeral Home in Greenwood, and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. 
 

Cuddie Funeral Home of Loyal is assisting the family with arrangements.

GREENWOOD, WIS. -- Donald A. Wells, 86, of Greenwood, died at the House of the Dove in Marshfield on Thursday, July 23, 2009. 
 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2009, at Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Rob Love will officiate and burial will follow in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler Horn, Brian Gust, James Wells, Ronald Wells, Kenneth Horn, James Seefluth and Gerald Immerfall. 
 

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009, at Cuddie Funeral Home in Greenwood; and Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. 
 

Donald Adelbert Wells was born March 2, 1923, in Greenwood, the son of Adelbert and Elsie (Dux) Wells. He grew up on the family farm, received his education at Christopherson grade school, and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1941. After completing his education, Don worked at the Greenwood Co-op and H.R. Baird. 
 

Don was united in marriage Aug. 12, 1942, to Kathryn Sonderegger in St. Croix Falls. Besides farming in Greenwood, Don owned milk routes and hauled milk for Stewart's Redville Dairy from 1947 until 1961. He was also a substitute mail carrier, on Route 2 in Greenwood, for 11 years. In 1966, Don became the Standard Oil agent in the Greenwood area. In 1976, he bought out the jobbership and became Wells Amoco Oil Company. He retired March 1, 1991. 
 

He had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, puttering in his shop, making birdhouses, bird watching, playing cards, helping his neighbors and the morning coffee clutch in Greenwood. 
 

Don will be dearly missed by his wife, Kathryn, of Greenwood; his son, Michael (Judy) Wells of Marshfield; his daughter, Marcia (Bill) Horn of Loyal; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Burt (Jean) Wells of Spencer; one sister, Marguerite Friske of Whitehall; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 
 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Adella Friske.
