Stock, Viola #2 (29 JUN 1894 - 25 JUN 1952)


Mrs. Viola Stock, 58, was placed in her final resting place in the cemetery at Colby on Saturday afternoon following the services conducted at two o’clock from the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church at Curtiss.  The Rev. Puhlman officiated at the service.


Pallbearers were Henry Ortmeier, Alex Thede, Elmore Dehne, Ernest Stockmeyer, Wm. Gehke and Arnold Dehne.  Members of the Ladies Aid of the parish were in charge of floral offerings.


The deceased was born on June 29, 1894 in Manitowoc Co. and passed away at Victory memorial Hospital, Stanley, where she was being treated for a lingering illness on the 25th of June, 1952.


On Nov. 18, 1915 at Newton, Wis., she and Hugo Stock were united in marriage.  The couple were blessed with four children, all of whom survive her passing away.  She and her husband lived in Manitowoc County until 1930 when they moved to Clark County, settling on a farm near Curtiss.  Mr. Stock passed away on May 4th of last year.


Her death is mourned by her four daughters, Mrs. Henry (Gertrude) Buss, Curtiss; Mrs. Lawrence (Edna) Rueden, Clintonville, Wis.; Mrs. Otto (Violet) Engel, Withee; and Mrs. Stanley (Loraine) Janda, Denver, Colo.; five brothers, Walter and Arno Dehne of Newton and Lester and Emil of Manitowoc (only four brothers listed), and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Steffen of Milwaukee and Arlene Dehne of Newton.


Relatives here from away to attend the services were Mrs. Orville Matt, Mrs. Clifford Helke, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Dehne, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Steffen, Mrs. Wm. Steffen and son, Mr. Emil Dehne and daughter Greta, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dehne, Arvin and Arno Dehne, Mrs. Lydia Stock, Mrs. Christian Stock and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Stock of Manitowoc; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stock and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Engwald, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Jacob and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Grotegut of St. Paul, Minn.; Arlene Dehne of Milwaukee and many other relatives and friends from Greenwood, Ladysmith and Dorchester, Wis.
