Habermeyer, Marion (Marriage - 14 Oct. 1953)

Miss Marion Habermeyer was given in marriage by her father, Ed Habermeyer, of Stetsonville, to Robert Paul, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Paul, also of Stetsonville, Wednesday morning at St. Bernard’s Catholic church. The double ring ceremony was read at 9:00 o’clock by the Rev. Raymond Schulz, before the nuptial high mass.

The bride wore a gown designed with a lace bodice and a nylon net over taffeta skirt. Her long veil, with a blusher veil, fell from a little lace hat. She carried a cascade bouquet, made of large, white mums, and baby mums.

Attending her as maid of honor was her sister, Miss Dorothy Habermeyer, and as bridesmaid, Miss Dorothy Raymond, cousin of the groom, both of Stetsonville. They were dressed alike in formals of net over taffeta with lace bolero in aqua and pink, respectively. Their pleated head pieces matched their frocks. They carried cascade bouquets of white, pink and yellow carnations.

Pink and white carnations were also combined in the corsage worn by the mother of the groom.

Attending the groom was William Habermeyer, brother of the bride, as best man, and Donald Gebert, a cousin of the bride, of Stetsonville.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s father and a wedding dance was held at Dorchester Memorial hall in the evening.

After a two weeks’ honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Paul will reside in Abbotsford at the Eugene Steinke house on the east side. Mr. Paul is employed at Marathon-Clark Cooperative Dairy Association and prior to her marriage, the bride was employed at the Coffee Shop.
