Strobel, Alice Ann (09 FEB 1946)

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Waukesha was the scene of the wedding of Miss Alice Ann Strobel, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Strobel of Hartford, and Wilbert J. Hannan, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Hannan of Loyal.

The Rev. A. Zeuchek read the nuptial high mass at 9 a.m. Feb. 9, before the church altar, decorated with bouquets of pink and white gladioli. "On This Day, O Beautiful Mother," was sung as a baritone solo.

For her wedding the bride wore a light blue dressmaker suit and black off-the-face hat, trimmed with blue. Her corsage was composed of white carnations and blue iris, and she carried a prayerbook.

Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marek, brother-in-law and sister of the bride. Mrs. Marek was attired in a cocoa-brown ensemble and hat trimmed with yellow flowers and wore a corsage of yellow jonquils and carnations.

Following the ceremony, a dinner was served at the Avolon hotel. A bouquet of yellow jonquils and white swansonia, flanked with tall yellow tapers, centered the table. Later a reception for friends was held at the Strobel home.

Upon their return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin today, they will be at home to friends at 143 East Broadway street, Waukesha, where Mr. Hannan is manager of the Thompkins Ice Cream Parlor.

Mrs. Hannan had been employed at a Waukesha ice cream shop.

Guests included: Joe Strobel of Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. L. Strobel, Miss Mae Cornelius, George Strobel, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marek and daughter, Frances Ann, of Hartford; Mr. and Mrs. Hilmar Strobel and son, Larry, of Watertown; Mr. and Mrs. Alois Stange of Athens, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hannan and Mrs. Ed Bertz of Loyal; and Mrs. Frances Scanlon of Madison.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
