J. E. Allar, president of the village of
Dorchester, was born in Colby in 1880. He was educated in the Colby
Catholic School and high school. He moved to Dorchester over ten
years ago and lived for some time on a farm about one and one-half
miles from Dorchester. He owned the flour and feed store in this
village for a number of years, and was county supervisor for the
village during the years 1927, 1928 and 1930. He did much to see
the village of Dorchester progress.
He was married on November 16, 1909, to
Louise Dombrowbe of Abbotsford. They have four children: Jack 14,
Raymond 11, Lillian 10 and Frances 8.
He is a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church. Politically, he is a Democrat.
