Wentzel, Vivian M. (10 JUN 1954)

The Rev. Frank Brickel officiated at the 9 o’clock ceremony on Thursday morning in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, in which Miss Vivian Mae Wentzel became the bride of Harry Mengel.  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wentzel, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), while the groom is the son of Ervin Mengel, also of Curtiss.

A sheer yoke and long sleeves detailed the white satin entrained gown selected by the bride.  Her veil was of fingertip length and she carried a bouquet of red and white roses mixed with white carnations.

Miss Marion Wentzel served as maid of honor for her sister.  Her frock was fashioned of lavender net over taffeta and her bouquet consisted of white and yellow carnations.  The bridesmaids, Darlene Rachu, Darlene Molle and Dorothy Krueger, were attired in pink formals.  Their bouquets contained pink, yellow, and white carnations.

Attendants for the groom were Mark Kafka, Clifford Wentzel, Glen Rachu, and Carl Soltow.

Mrs. Wentzel viewed her daughter’s wedding attired in a blue nylon dress accented with white accessories.   Pink and white carnations formed her corsage.

Following the ceremony dinner and supper were served at the home of the bride’s parents, with 70 guests present for dinner and 90 for supper.  Other festivities included an afternoon reception and a dance that evening in the Riverview Ballroom.

Out of town guests were from Oshkosh, Menasha, Stratford, Edgar, Loyal, Abbotsford and Unity.
