Cendt, Beverly (Marriage - 11 June 1955)  
 

Now honeymooning in northern Wisconsin and Michigan are Mr. and Mrs. Roger Eckes, who were married Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock in the First Presbyterian church in Abbotsford. The bride, the former Beverly Cendt, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cendt, Colby, while the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Eckes, 822 Park ave., Wausau. Officiating clergyman at the ceremony was the Rev. Richard Harrison. 
 

Mrs. David Stieber, Colby, a cousin of the bride, sang "Oh Perfect Love," and "The Lord’s Prayer" during the services. Organist was Miss Lois Ehrenrich.  
 

The bride wore a white full length gown with a Chantilly lace bodice and long sleeves. The skirt was of tulle over satin. Her veil of French illusion was net trimmed and had a lace edge. It was attached to a Juliet cap of lace. She carried a crescent bouquet of white gardenias, red roses and ivy.  
 

Mrs. Kathleen Barbian, Wausau was matron of honor for her new sister-in-law. Her ballerina length formal of orchid net with white embroidery had a tiered skirt. Her crescent-shaped bouquet was of red roses, white carnations, mums and ivy.  
 

The attendant for the groom was the bride’s brother, Malcolm Cendt, Colby. Ushers at the church were Ronald Eckes, Wausau, a cousin of the groom, and Conrad Christianson, Marshfield, a cousin of the bride.  
 

Jeanne Stieber, Colby, dressed in a gown identical to the bride’s, preceded the bride down the aisle. She carried a colonial bouquet of white mums and red roses.  
 

The bride’s mother attended the wedding in a pink linen dress with white accessories. She wore a corsage of pink roses and stephanotis. Mrs. Eckes chose a light blue print dress of imported voile with white accessories. Her corsage was also of pink roses and stephanotis.  
 

Following the services, 150 guests joined the newlyweds at a dinner in the church parlors.  
 

The bride, a graduate of Colby high school, is employed at the Employers Mutual, Wausau. The groom, who was graduated from Wausau high school, works at Silcrest, Wausau.  
 

Following the honeymoon they will be at home at 610 ½ Chicago ave., Wausau.  
 

Guests for the wedding came from Everett, Wash., Milwaukee, Bayfield, Kalamazoo, Mich., Marshfield, Colby and Wausau.
