Holtz, Ida (20 July 1883 - 24 Dec. 1953) 
 

Funeral services for Mrs. Herman Holtz, 70, who died Christmas Eve, were held Monday, Dec. 28, at St. Peter’s Lutheran church, Dorchester, at 2:00 o’clock, with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating. Internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery. 
 

Mrs. Holtz suffered a stroke, Wednesday afternoon, at her home, and was taken to St. Joseph’s hospital, at Marshfield, where she died the following day at 6:15 p.m. 
 

The pallbearers were Harold, Lyndon, Albert and Wilbur Ruesch, and Harlan and Robert Holtz. 
 

The flowers were carried by Mmes. Don Sauter, Fred Leonhardt, Otto Busse, and John Busse, all members of St. Peter’s Sewing Circle, of which the deceased had been a member.  
 

Attending the funeral were many relatives and friends from Chicago, Highwood, Ill., St. Charles, Minn., Omro, Medford, Colby, Dorchester, and Abbotsford. 
 

Mrs. Holtz was born Ida Ruesch, July 20, 1883, in Zurich, Switzerland. She came to this country with her parents at the age of two months and received her education in Medford rural schools. On Dec. 15, 1908, she was married to Herman Holtz at Medford. The couple lived in Dorchester 26 years and came to Abbotsford five years ago. Mrs. Holtz was a member of Christ Lutheran church, of Abbotsford, and retained her membership in St. Peter’s Sewing Circle. 
 

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Erma) Vircks, Dorchester; two sons, Raymond Holtz, Abbotsford; and Harold Holtz, Grand Rapids, Mich.; one brother, Herman Ruesch, Medford; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Grahl, Medford; and four grand children. Six brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
