Kunze, Mary (Marriage - 28 July 1954) 
 

On Wednesday, July 28, Miss Mary Kunze, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kunze, and Elroy V. Weiler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sebastian Weiler, Athens, were united in marriage. The ceremony took place at 9:00 o’clock with a nuptial high mass at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby, with the Rev. Vincent Schwartz officiating. 
 

A Peter Pan collar finished the lace bodice of the gown in which the bride was attired when she approached the altar on the arm of her father. Lace insets detailed the bouffant net-over-taffeta skirt. A pearl studded headpiece secured her long veil. Her bouquet of red roses and white gladioli was tied with a wide white satin ribbon. 
 

Bouquets of colored carnations from which extended streamers in rainbow tints were carried by the three bridal aides - Mrs. Ted Kulas, Abbotsford, as matron of honor in blue; and Mrs. Harold Westfall, Athens, a sister of the groom, in green; and Mrs. Donald Kaiser, Colby, a cousin of the bride, in lilac, as bridesmaids. 
 

Matching lace jackets were worn over their identically styled strapless frocks, the skirts of which were fashioned of six tiers of net over taffeta. 
 

Donald Kunze, brother of the bride, was best man, and the groomsmen were Mr. Kulas and Mr. Westfall. 
 

A dinner and reception were held at the home of the bride’s parents, attended by approximately 500 relatives and friends. 
 

The new Mr. and Mrs. Weiler are residing with the bride’s parents. Mr. Weiler, who served two years with the United States Marines, is employed as a milk truck driver for the Marathon-Clark Cooperative Dairy Association.
