Laabs, Lulu (10 June 1886 - 21 Feb. 1957) 
 

COLBY - Mrs. Emil A. Laabs, 70, died at midnight Thursday at her home here, after a heart attack. She had been in poor health for the past two months.  
 

Funeral services were held at 2:00 o’clock Monday afternoon at the First Evangelical and Reformed church. Burial followed in the Colby, Wisconsin Cemetery. The Rev. Victor Grosshuesch was the officiant.  
 

The former Lulu Lehmann was born June 10, 1886. Directly after her marriage to Mr. Laabs, June 16, 1909, in New London, the couple took up residence in Curtiss, where he was a cheese maker. After his retirement in 1944, they moved to Colby. 
 

Survivors include the widower; four children, Norbert, Dorchester; Mrs. Harold (Fern) Kasper, Unity; Mrs. Harold (Olive) Klessig, Colby; and Mrs. Albert (Elvera) Schultz, Curtiss; one sister, Mrs. Leo Lippert, Oklahoma City, Okla.; one brother, Harry Lehmann, Milwaukee; 10 grand children and three great grand children.
