Zaidel, Joseph #2 (2 JAN 1887 - 30 APR 1954)

 

Funeral services for Joseph Zaidel, 67, were conducted by Rev. Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church at 10:00 o’clock Monday morning, May 3.  Mr. Zaidel passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Chippewa Falls on April 30, 1954, having suffered a stroke several weeks ago.

 

The deceased was born in Poland on Jan. 2, 1887, having reached the age of 67 years, 3 months and 28 days.

 

Coming to America while still a small boy his folks located in Thorp, where he grew to manhood and became a carpenter by trade.  He was united in marriage to Anna Kramasz on May 12, 1914 at St. Hedwig’s Church, Thorp.  Two years after they moved to a farm in the Town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) where they resided until he retired about two years ago and came to the city of Thorp to live until death.

 

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Stanley of Lombard, Ill., and John on the home farm; three daughters, Emily, Mrs. Richard Jerome of Chicago; Helen, Mrs. Alphonse Kramer of St. Charles, Ill. , and Mary, Mrs. Robert Berberich of North Lake, Ill.; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Raklios, Anna and Julia Zaidel, Mrs. Rose Goss, of  Chicago, and Mrs. Helen Kocherer of Marshfield, and seven grandchildren.

 

He was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Anton Rataiczyk, Peter Kroll, John A. Papierniak and Joe Tobola.
