Hauge, Betty Jane (Marriage - 14 February 1953)

St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Neillsville was the scene of the marriage Saturday, February 14, of Miss Betty Jane Hauge and Robert Carl Biechler.  Officiating at the nine o’clock nuptial mass was the Rev. Fr. Peter Leketas.  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Hauge, of 17 Grand Avenue, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Biechler of 706 West Blodgett Street Marshfield.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a floor-length dress of nylon net over white satin.  Its fitted jacket of Chantilly lace had a pointed collar and matching lace panel trimmed the front of her full skirt.  Her fingertip veil fell from a pearl-trimmed net bonnet.  On her prayer book she carried a white orchid and sweetheart roses with ribbon showers.

She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Donald Teclaw of Kewaskum as matron of honor.  She wore a strapless gown of pale blue taffeta.  It was floor-length, fashioned with a full skirt of nylon tulle with a short bolero jacket.  She wore a gold trimmed cap and carried a lace heart of red roses and blue and white hyacinth blossoms.

Miss Noreen Mockler of Marshfield as the bridesmaid wore a gown of pale pink, fashioned like the matron of honor.

The groom was attended by his brother, Lt. J. G. James Biechler of Norfolk, Va., as best man, and Harry Feirer of Marshfield as groomsman.

Donald Teclaw of Kewaskum and John Wenzel of Marshfield ushered.

A wedding breakfast was served to the wedding party and immediate family at the Merchants Hotel at 11 o’clock.  At three o’clock a wedding reception was held at the Eagles Hall in Marshfield for 200 guests.  The young couple left for a short honeymoon trip to Minneapolis and St. Paul.  They will make their home in Marshfield.

The bride was graduated from the Neillsville High School with the class of ’49 and was graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing with the class of 1952.  She has since been employed at the Marshfield Clinic.

The groom was graduated from the Marshfield High School and from Stevens Point State College and is employed by the Marshfield fire department.
