Schultz, William F. (31 July 1874 - 17 August 1953)

William F. Schultz, 79, died August 17 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eva Quinlan.  He had been in poor health since last spring.

Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, August 20, from the Georgas Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Koehler officiating and with interment in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Schultz was born July 31, 1874, to Carl and Augusta (Zimmerman) Schultz at Watertown, Wis.  When one year old he came to Clark County, where he has been a resident the past 78 years.  He received his education in the rural schools of the county.  Mr. Schultz worked on his father’s farm west of town and in the winter months he used to work in lumber camps.

After his marriage to Martha Wagner on October 30, 1901, in the town of Pine Valley he became the manager of the Youmans farm east of Neillsville.  He later moved to Neillsville, where he was employed by the American Stores Dairy until he retired at the age of 65.  He has lived with his two daughters since disposing of his home near O’Neill Creek following the death of his wife in 1941.

Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Viola) Free, and Mrs. Eva Quinlan, both of Neillsville; and two brothers, Otto Schultz, Montour, Idaho, and Charles Schultz of Neillsville.  He also leaves two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His wife and one son, Irving, preceded him in death, as did two brothers, and a sister, Mrs. John Simons of Chicago.
