Nitschki, Ferdinand (1864 - 1953)

Services for Ferdinand Nitschki, 88, a resident of Clark County for about 60 years, were held August 8, at Janesville, with burial in the Plymouth Cemetery near there.

The services were conducted by the Rev. John Keiser, pastor of the Lake Mills Lutheran congregation.

Mr. Nitschki, who once owned an eighty on the Cemetery road, adjoining the Bernard Dodte farm, died August 5 after an illness of three years.  During that period he had made his home with a niece, Mrs. William Groth, near Janesville.  Prior to that he had lived in Neillsville for several years, and worked as a carpenter here for many years.

Mr. Nitschki was born December 23, 1864, in Breslau, Germany.  He came to the United States in 1883, as a young man of 19, with a sister.  They settled first in Dodge County, and Mr. Nitschki moved here about 60 years ago.

Surviving are two nieces and two nephews: Mrs. Groth of Janesville and Mrs. Martin Dankemyer of Chili; and Ed and Reinhold (Hank) Voigt, both of the Town of York.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin Dankemyer and son William of Chili attended the funeral services.
