Hardwick, James (15 July 1896 - 8 November 1954) 
 

James Hardwick, 58, Humbird, Wis., died November 8, 1954, at his farm home.  
 

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) November 11, from St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church at Humbird, with the Rev. H. A. Hartmann in charge.  Burial will be in the Mentor Cemetery at Humbird. 
 

The body, in charge of the Georgas Funeral Home, will be taken to the Humbird church Thursday at noon, where it will repose from one o’clock until the service. 
 

James Hardwick was born to William and Alice (Campbell) Hardwick on July 15, 1896, at Shady Grove, Ia., and at the age of seven years, his family took him to Jackson County, where they engaged in farming.  Following his marriage to Elgie Pierce on October 6, 1919, at Neillsville he continued to farm in Jackson County until 1930, when the family moved to the Town of Mentor in Clark County.  Mr. Hardwick was a farmer his entire life. 
 

He is survived by his wife, and the following children: Wayland of Eau Claire; Mrs. Raymond (Winnifred) Tesmer, Neillsville; Mrs. Kenneth (Marjorie) Harris, Altoona; Mrs. Carroll (Joyce) Kalsh, Moorhead, Minn.; Dale and Daryl, Mrs. Karl (Bethadel) Johnson, Lamar and Dawn, all of Humbird.  One sister, Mrs. Carl (Effie) Greub, Neillsville; and a brother, Clarence Hardwick of Cambria, also survive.

Funeral services for James Hardwick, 58, Humbird, who died Monday, November 8, at his farm home near Humbird, were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, from the St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church at Humbird.  Burial was in the Town of Mentor Cemetery. 
 

Pallbearers were: Paul Zerbel, Martin Zerbel, Angus Flood, John Greub, Percy Bemus and Paul Elger.  Flowers were in charge of Mrs. John Burchell and Mrs. Percy Bemus.
