Leonhard, Ruth (Marriage - 19 July 1958)

Miss Ruth Leonhard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leonhard, became the bride of Harvey Witt, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Witt of Curtiss, Saturday evening, July 19. The double ring service was read at 8:00 o’clock in the parsonage of St. Peter’s Lutheran church, Dorchester, with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating.

Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hamm, Owen, brother-in-law and sister of the groom.

For her wedding, the bride chose a ballerina length gown of imported lace. Sequins detailed the lace in the bodice, which featured a small, lace collar and long sleeves that came to points over the hand. Tiny buttons were used down the back. Iridescent sequins were used in the tiara head piece that held the finger tip veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and white gladioli centered with rose buds.

Mrs. Hamm wore a yellow ballerina length dress designed with a lace bodice and skirt of layers of net. She carried a round bouquet of white carnations surrounded by white gladioli. In her hair she wore yellow flowers.

Following the ceremony, a reception for 16 immediate relatives was held at the home of the bride’s parents. In the evening of Aug. 2 the new Mr. and Mrs. Witt will greet friends and relatives at a reception at Curtiss hall.

Mr. and Mrs. Witt left on a wedding trip to the southern part of the state and on their return will make their home in Abbotsford. Mr. Witt is employed at the Laabs Cheese Factory at Curtiss.
