Schlegelmilch, Mr. & Mrs. Charles (Golden - 2 March 1955)

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schlegelmilch of nearby Neillsville entertained Wednesday evening in honor of their golden wedding anniversary.  Approximately 35 relatives gathered for an evening of cards and music.

The honored couple was married March 2, 1905, in Sauk County.  Mr. Schlegelmilch operated a dray line before moving to a farm in Dane County.  In 1917 they moved to a farm on the Ridge that has been their home since.  They are members of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Neillsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Schlegelmilch are the parents of the following children: Mrs. William (Lillian) Turner, Milwaukee; Mrs. Emil (Alice) Kasner, Arpin; Miss Mildred Schlegelmilch, Milwaukee; Mrs. Albert (Hazel) Zank; Neillsville; Mrs. Richard (Esther) Clark, Waukesha; and Norbert Schlegelmilch of Neillsville.  They have 10 grandchildren.

One of the many gifts presented to the honored couple was a bouquet of tulips planted in a flower pot.  This bouquet has 50 silver dollars as blossoms.
