Herr, Ellen J. (24 March 1882 - 3 April 1955)  
 

Mrs. Albert Herr, 73, died suddenly of a heart attack at her home in Greenwood Sunday noon, April 3.   
 

Funeral services in charge of the Hill Funeral Home will be held Wednesday, April 6, at 8:30 a.m. at the Francis Herr home and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Burial will be made in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.  The Rev. Hartung will officiate.  Rosary services with the St. Ann’s Society were held Monday evening and the General Rosary Tuesday evening, both at 8 p.m. at the Francis Herr home.   
 

Mrs. Herr, nee Ellen J. Bailey, was born March 24, 1882, at Hebron, Ill.  On February 5, 1902, she was married at Harland to Albert Herr. Mr. Herr died May 3, 1954. 
 

The Herr family came to Greenwood 40 years ago and settled on a farm two miles north of here, where they resided until two years ago.  Their farm is now occupied by their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Herr. 
 

Mrs. Herr was a member of St. Mary’s Church and St. Ann’s Society.   
 

She is survived by four daughters and two sons: Mrs. Francis (Lola) Slavin of Hebron, Ill.; Mrs. Otto (Grace) Abel of Greenwood; Miss Loretta Herr at home; Mrs. David (Dolores) Keating of Capron, Ill.; Joseph and Francis Herr of Greenwood; nineteen grandchildren, one brother John Bailey of Hebron, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Goodendorf of Rockford, Ill.; and Mrs. May Danner of Green Bay.
