Schmidt, Lee Bernard (15 March 1946 - 21 July 1955) 
 

Funeral services for Lee Bernard Schmidt, 9, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schmidt of 203 W. 14th Street, Neillsville were held Monday July 25, from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. Peter Leketas officiated.  The burial was in the parish cemetery. 
 

He died July 21, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minn., where he had been a patient since the previous Tuesday. 
 

Lee was the son of Gerald and Frances (Wolf) Schmidt of Neillsville and was born March 15, 1946, at Neillsville.  He attended St. Mary’s Catholic school and would have been in the fourth grade this coming fall.  Last year Lee received the Merit Award for being the outstanding student of his class.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters.  A rosary for him was said Sunday afternoon by the students of St. Mary’s school and a general rosary was said Sunday evening at the Bergemann Funeral Home, where the body reposed until time of service on Monday when it was taken to the church. 
 

He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Jerry and Brian Schmidt, both at home; his two grandmothers, Mrs. Helena Schmidt of Neillsville and Mrs. Katherine Wolf of Marshfield. 
 

The Rev. Fr. Lucian Pulvermacher, OFMCap, a cousin of Lee, presided at the graveside rites.  He was also present in the sanctuary during the mass. 
 

Pallbearers were: Charles Aumann, David Hopfer, John Hubing, Albert Mazola, Luke VerHagen and James Wasserburger.

Lucian Pulvermacher, OFMCap, on leave from his mission at Naha, Okinawa; Mrs. Katherine Wolf, Mr. and Mrs. Al Rondorf and family, Marshfield; Valerian Schmidt, Mrs. Eulalia Jones, Mrs. Joanne Butterfield, Waukesha; Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Schmidt and family, Madison; Basil Schmidt, East Troy; Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Syth and daughter, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wolf and family, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Gregor Wolf and family, Marathon; Mrs. Dorothy Miller and family, Marshfield; Alois Pulvermacher and Mrs. L. J. Spahn, Madison; William Klinkner, Cashton; Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Pulvermacher and Mrs. Gerald Redmond, Pittsville; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schill and family, Auburndale; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Brey, Hewitt; Peter Brey and Mrs. Mary Paun, Marshfield.
