Funeral services were held October 11 from St.
John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for Mrs. Anna Dux, 86, a
resident of this community since 1893. Mrs. Dux died October
8 at the Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for the
past two weeks. Death was attributed to old age
body reposed at the Georgas Funeral Home until noon on Tuesday,
When it was taken to the church for services. The Rev. Alfred
Schewe officiated. Interment took place in the Neillsville City
Mrs. Dux was born June 6, 1869, in Germany to Mr.
and Mrs. Godfried Rauhut. She received her education in the
German schools and on August 10, 1893 was married to William Dux in
Germany. In the fall of the same year the couple sailed for
this country and settled on a farm in the Town of Pine
Valley. Mr. Dux preceded her in death in 1906.
Following his death she moved to Neillsville and resided at 319 E.
is survived by the following children: Mrs. Milo (Martha) Brown,
Sacramento, Cal.; Mrs. Adelbert (Elsie) Wells, Greenwood; William,
Alfred and Arthur Dux, all of Neillsville, and Mrs. O. K. (Agnes)
Riplinger of Minneapolis; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Bert Dux of
Moorhead, Minn.; 13 grandchildren and 17
Deceased members of her family are her husband,
one son, Bert, and one grandson, Dale Brown; also several brothers
and sisters, who died in Germany.
Mrs. Dux was a charter member of the St. John’s Ladies Aid and was a member of the Haugen-Richmond Post No. 73 of the American Legion Auxiliary.
