Lawrence, Melvin (? - 15 October 1955)  
 

Funeral services for Melvin Lawrence, 84, who died at Platteville October 15, were conducted last Tuesday from the York Center Methodist Church.  The Rev. Charles Swanson of Loyal officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.  
 

Pallbearers were Irving and Lawrence Vandeberg, Gilbert and Byrl Lawrence, Harold and Vern Gardner. 
 

Out of Town folks attending the rites were: Miss Beulah Lawrence, Platteville; Mrs. Alvin Vandeberg, Forest Park, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lawrence, East Moline, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Horace Lawrence, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Vandeberg, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jakobie, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Richardson, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Byrl Lawrence, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Heiking, Elma Beaver, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Catlin, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pagelsdorf, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Nyle Benedict, all of Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Milford Rowe, Mrs. Verla Hales, Truman Davis, Eldred Davis, Newt Turner, Miss Ruby Anthony, Mrs. Bert Hayden, Mrs. William Eibergen, Mrs. Otto Schmidtke, all of Granton, and Harvey Palmer of Portland, Ore.
