Mayer, Edward (10 AUG 1885 - 20 AUG 1955)

 

A Rosary service was said Tuesday evening, Aug. 23, at the Thorp Funeral Home for Edward J. Mayer of 1427 So. 86th St., West Allis, Wis., husband of the former Ruth Boardman of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), who passed away of a heart attack at St. Mary’s Hospital, Milwaukee, on Aug. 20th, 1955.  Funeral services were conducted by Father Wingenghoff at St. Aloysius Church, West Allis, at 9:00 a.m., Aug. 23.  The body was brought to Thorp and lay in state at the Thorp Funeral Home until burial on Aug. 24th in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, a prayer being offered by Father G. Meyer at the funeral home and graveside.

 

The deceased was born in Menasha, Wis., on Aug. 10, 1885.  He had been employed as tobacco buyer by the Reed Drug Co., Milwaukee.

 

Besides his wife and parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Geo. Mayer, he is survived by one son, Dr. Richard J. Mayer, Racine, Wis., one brother, Arthur Mayer, Kaukauna, Wis., and two sisters, Misses Etta and Della Mayer, Kaukauna.

 

Brothers-in-law of the deceased acted as pallbearers: Louie Boardman, Jack Boardman, Bill Boardman, Walter Koltis, of Thorp, Tom Tobola, Cadott, and John Kaminski of Milwaukee.
