Haack, Edris (Marriage - 8 September 1956)

The Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, Neillsville, was the scene Saturday afternoon of the wedding of Miss Edris Haack, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Haack of Neillsville, and Michael E. Kalin of Long Beach, Cal., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael W. Kalin of Lincolndell, N.Y.

The Rev. Albert Guthmiller, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony at three o’clock before an altar banked with green sprays and baskets of white gladioli and ‘mums.

For her wedding the bride, who was given in marriage by her father, selected an embroidered Chantilly lace gown styled with a bateau neckline.  Fluted Nylon flounces alternated across the front of the bouffant skirt.  The back of the skirt extended into a chapel-length train.  Her finger-tip veil was secured to a crown trimmed with sequins and seed pearls.  The prayer book which she carried was topped by a white orchid surrounded by sprays of stephanotis.

Attending the bride was Miss Diane Haack, sister of the bride, as maid of honor; and Miss Betty Neuman of Milwaukee and Mrs. James Horswill of Neillsville as bridesmaids.

The groom’s attendants were Eugene Taylor of Mahopac, N. Y., best man, and Allen Naedler and James Horswill, both of Neillsville.  Ushers were Ronald Skaug of Milwaukee and Gene Zaske of Thorp.

Completing the wedding party was Pamela Lathrop as flower girl and Tommy Hack of Milwaukee as ring bearer.

After greeting approximately 150 guests at a reception on the lawn of the bride’s parents’ home, the couple left on a wedding trip to Mackinac Island and upper Michigan.  Upon their return the bride will return to her duties as a private secretary in Milwaukee, and Mr. Kalin will return to Long Beach, Cal. to complete his term of enlistment in the Navy.  After his discharge he plans to attend school in Milwaukee.

Mrs. Kalin is a graduate of Neillsville High school and Spencerian Business College of Milwaukee.

Out of town guests attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kalin, Mr. and Mrs. William Schwarz, Mrs. Richard Schneck and Richard Hogan, all of Elmont, N. Y.; Eugene Taylor and Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor, Lincolndell, N. Y.; Mrs. A. C. Haack, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haack and family, Mr. and Mrs. R. H.
