Zaeske, Otto A. (3 August 1883 - 18 July 1957) 
 

Otto A. Zaeske, 73, of 310 Grand Avenue, Neillsville, died July 18 at his home.  He had been ill since 1955. 
 

Services were conducted Saturday from St. John’s Lutheran Church, with the pastor, the Rev. Alfred Schewe, officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.  Arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home. 
 

Mr. Zaeske was born August 3, 1883, in Germany, the son of John C. and Emilia (Eithsradt / Eicksteadt) Zaeske.  He came to the United States with his parents at the age of nine.  He received his education in Germany and the United States.  He worked on his parents’ farm until 1906.  On June 5, 1907, he was married to Minnie Pundt at Carpentersville, Ill.  She died in 1937. 
 

After their marriage they resided in Carpentersville, where he was employed by the Borden Milk Company for 10 years.  He then moved to Neillsville, being employed by the Oatman Condensed Milk Company. This position he held until 1926, then managed a creamery at Stetsonville for two years. 
 

Following his retirement from the milk business he spent full time selling insurance.  At the time of his death he held a life-time license.  
 

He was married to Alice Lound on May 14, 1938, at Cresco, Ia. 
 

Mr. Zaeske is survived by his wife and three sons: Alfred, East Troy; Elmer, Milwaukee; and Lester, Sacramento, Calif. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Willig of Oak Lawn, Ill., and Mrs. August (Frieda) Schultz, Elgin, Ill.; and five brothers: Alvin of Dundee, Ill.; Dr. Edward of sterling, Ill.; John C. of Fox River Grove, Ill.; Herman of Aurora, Ill.; and Albert of Colorado Springs, Col. 
 

He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. 
 

Pallbearers were: Kenneth Olson, Frank E. Brown, William Ruchaber, Kurt Listeman, Robert Wegner and Herman North. 
 

Mrs. Robert Tyler, accompanied by Victor Lehman, sang "The Lord’s Prayer." 
 

Out of town people attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Zaeske, East Troy; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Zaeske and daughter, Milwaukee; Mrs. Stefanie Zaeske, Gordon Zaeske, Alvin E. Zaeske, all of Dundee, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. John Zaeske, Fox River Grove, Ill.; John Willig, Chicago; Mrs. Elsie Willig and daughter, Eldora, Oak Lawn, Ill.; Drs. Edward and Dora Zaeske and son, John, Sterling, Ill.; Mrs. Frieda Schultz, Elgin, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lound, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Perry, Marshfield; Henry Goetzelt, Black River Falls; and Mrs. Glen Miniger (Nimsger?), Augusta.
