Paun, Marjorie (Marriage - 31 August 1957)

St . Stephan’s Catholic Church at Chili was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Miss Marjorie Paun and George Nielsen, Jr., whose parents are Mrs. Mary Paun of Granton and Mr. and Mrs. George Neilsen of Neillsville, Rt. 3.

The Rev. Robert Perkins performed the double ring ceremony before an altar banked with baskets of cut flowers.

Martha Seymour of Richmond, Cal. a cousin of the bride, was her matron of honor.  Bridesmaids were Sharon Horswill and Dawn Stucki.

Bestman was the bride’s brother, Louis Paun, of Granton.  Attending as groomsmen were James Horswill and Robert Seymour.  David Stucki of Plymouth and Raymond Maxwell of Brodhead ushered.

Attending the bride as junior bridesmaids, were Marilyn Horswill, a niece of the bride, and Wendy Nielsen, sister of the groom.

Three hundred fifty guests attended the dinner served in the church parlors immediately after the ceremony, and the reception held at the home of the bride’s mother.

The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, Tom Paun, approached the altar in a floor-length gown of Alencon lace, designed with tulle and lace ruffled cathedral-length train.  The fitted bodice featured a Sabrina neckline trimmed with iridescent sequins and seed pearls.  The long sleeves tapered at the wrist and fastened with satin buttons.  A veil of imported silk illusion, attached to an open queen’s crown, was edged with sequins and seed pearls.  Her bouquet was a lace colonial arrangement of stephanotis, centered with a pink orchid.  Stephanotis-tipped streamers cascaded to the floor.

Mr. and Mrs. Nielsen will reside in West Allis, where the groom is employed by the state department of agriculture at Madison.

Our of town people attending were from Richmond, Cal.; Chicago, Evanston and Rockford, Ill.; Detroit, Mich.; Milwaukee, Madison, Beloit, West Allis, Brodhead, Oconomowoc, Plymouth, Spencer, Loyal, Wisconsin Rapids, Hancock, Racine, Marshfield, Pittsville, Neillsville and Granton.
