Fenske, Florence E. (Bennett) (February 7, 1917 - February 9, 2010) 

 
Florence E. Fenske, 93, Abbotsford, formerly of Colby, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at The Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford.   
 

Florence was born February 7, 1917m in March Rapids, the daughter of Fred and Madge (Hannawalt) Bennett.  
 

She attended grade school at Enterprise School in the town of Brighton and graduated from Unity High School.   
 

Her first marriage was to Donald Smart in 1938 in Unity, He died in 1961.   
 

Florence married Clarence Fenske at Colby in 1979. He died in 1998.   
 

Florence was employed at Land O’Lakes in Spencer and worded on the assembly line. She was along-time member of the United Methodist Church in Colby. Florence loved to cook for her family and was an avid fisherwoman.   
 

She is survived by her children, Diane (Thomas) LaBarge of Holcombe, and Donald (Sharon) Smart of Colby; her stepchildren, DuWayne, Jerry, Ed and Sharon; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Erva Ruppert of Colby; and a brother, Mert Bennet of Unity.   
 

She was preceded in death by her parents; both her husbands; one sister, Edna and one brother Ralph.   
 

Her family is accepting memorials in Florence’s name to the United Methodist Church in Colby.   

 
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16 at the United Methodist Church in Colby. The Rev. Patricia Herdt will preside. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church in Colby on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place privately at a later date in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
