Radley, Jeanette E. #2 (25 JUN 1955)

In a gown fashioned of lace over satin with a sweetheart neckline and a chapel length train, Miss Jeanette Elaine Radley, route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Radley, was united in marriage to Melvin Kenneth Ewert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ewert, route 2, Colby.  Marriage vows were repeated before the Rev. Saremba in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Grove on Saturday afternoon at two o’clock.  A headpiece of orange blossoms held her fingertip veil of illusion net, and she carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations and orange blossoms.

Miss Shirley Stasek, a friend of the bride from Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), was maid of honor.  She wore a ballerina length dress of blue net and lace over taffeta.  Carnations and orange blossoms made up her colonial bouquet.  The bride’s sister, Mrs. Betty LaBounty, Oceanside, Calif., was bridesmaid.  Her gown was of pink net over taffeta and styled identically to the maid of honor’s.  She carried a bouquet of carnations and orange blossoms.

The groom’s brother, Milford Ewert, was best man, and groomsman was Halver Becken.  Ushers were Pierce Owens Jr., a cousin of the bride, and Myron Ewert, a brother of the groom.

The newlyweds greeted friends and relatives at the home of the groom’s parents at four o’clock.

The bride is a graduate of the Loyal High School and the groom graduated from Colby High School.  He recently returned from military service overseas.  Following a honeymoon in the northern part of Minnesota they will make their home at 1400 ½ Superior St., Sault St. Marie, Mich.

Guests for the wedding came from Oceanside, Calif., Milwaukee, Spencer, Marshfield, Unity, Loyal, Pewaukee, Chicago, Knapp, Bloomer, Withee, Owen, Colby, Riplinger and Sussex.
