Randall, Sophia (Marriage - 14 June 1958)

Miss Sophia Randall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. A. Musil of Neillsville, and Walter Vaitkevicius, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vaitkevicius of Kenosha were married Saturday afternoon in the First Methodist Church in Neillsville.  The double ring ceremony was performed by the pastor, the Rev. Virgil L. Holmes, in the presence of about 100 relatives and friends.  Decorations were baskets of red peonies and of white bridal wreath.

Mr. Musil gave the bride in marriage.  She appeared in a floor-length gown of white crystalette, fashioned with a flared skirt, fitted bodice and long pointed sleeves.  She wore a fingertip veil falling from a white tiara.  Her flowers were an arm bouquet of white Easter Lilies.

Miss Vivian Randall, sister and Miss Jeanette Vaitkevicius, sister of the groom, served as bridesmaids.  Their dresses were of green crystalette and fashioned like the bride’s dress. They wore matching headbands and carried bouquets of mixed flowers.  Attending the groom were friends, Richard Schwantes of Neillsville and Paul DeLong of Eau Claire.  Music was provided by members of the faculty of Wisconsin State College in Eau Claire.

The trio was made up of Miss Dorothy Thomas, organist, Dr. Robert A. Grantner, cellist, and Walter S. May, violist.

Both the bride and groom were graduated from the Neillsville High School in 1954.  The bride attended State College in Eau Claire, where she received her bachelor’s degree this month.  The groom was graduated from Stout State College May 31.  Both have employment for the summer and plan to teach in the fall.

Wedding guests included Mrs. F. H. Randall of Augusta, grandmother of the bride; Mrs. Albert Degener of Neillsville, Great-grandmother of the bride; and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vaitkevicius, daughter, Jeanette and son, Valentine, of Kenosha, family of the groom.

Other out of town guests were from: Lockport, Ill., Augusta, Auburndale, Eau Claire, and Granton.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church parlors.
