Lehman, Cynthia (Marriage - 22 June 1958)

In a three o’clock wedding service Sunday afternoon, June 22, at St. John’s Lutheran church in Neillsville, Miss Cynthia Lehman became the bride of Frank Granberg, Jr., of Kaukauna. The pastor, the Rev. Alfred Schewe, performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of 125 relatives and friends.

The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Victor Lehman of Neillsville.  The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Granberg, Sr., of Kaukauna.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a white Italian silk gown with a deep V neckline, bordered with wide Alencon lace and styled with a chapel-length train.  Her illusion veil fell from a princess crown set with pearls and sequins. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses.

Attending as matron of honor was a friend, Mrs. Muriel Bartels of Winona, Minn.  Other attendants were a cousin, Miss Ruth Blaesing of Racine, and Miss Victoria Lehman, sister, as junior bridesmaid.  The attendants wore gowns of white flock nylon over aqua taffeta, styled with matching cummerbund.  Each wore a matching straw headpiece with circular veil, and carried colonial bouquets of red and white flowers.

The groom’s attendants were his brother, Chris Granberg of Kaukauna and a friend, Donald Lemke of Kimberly.  Ushers were Gene Ploetz and Karl Conrad of Kaukauna.

Church decorations were baskets of red and white peonies.  Music consisted of sections by the choir of St. John’s school.  Mrs. Emil Larson of Madison was organist.  A reception was held in St. John’s school for 125 guests.

The bride is a graduate of Dr. Martin Luther College at New Ulm, Minn., and has been a parochial school teacher. The groom was graduated from the Kaukauna High School and attended Lawrence College in Appleton.  He is now power plant operator for the Kaukauna City Electric Company. The bride will teach kindergarten in St. Paul’s Lutheran School, Appleton next year.

The couple took a trip to northern Michigan, and after June 29, will be at home at 713½ Oviatt Street Kaukauna.

Emil Lehman of Hustisford, grandfather of the bride, and the groom’s parents were among those present.  Other out of town guests were from Kaukauna, Hustisford, Racine, La Crosse, Madison, Appleton, Wisconsin Rapids, Ixonia, Kimberly and Eau Claire in Wisconsin; Winona, Minneapolis and Waconia, Minn.; and from Elmwood, Ill.
