Lila T. Jackson, 94, Hudson, formerly of Greenwood, Died on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at the Christian Community Home, Hudson. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 8, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Terri Blomberg officiated. Burial followed in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Wickham, Mark Wickham, John Zagozen, John Kivikko, Dale Jacobitz and James Gregorich. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Jolivette and Robert Vesel.
Lila T. Kivikko was born on July 25, 1915, in the town of Longwood, rural Owen, to John and Sophie (nee Kukku) Kivikko. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at Bright School. She married Einar J.Jackson on Aug. 15, 1936, on her parent’s home farm. They lived in Wisconsin and Illinois, before returning to Greenwood in 1947. She was a homemaker and was employed at the Greenwood School District for 15 years, in food service, until her retirement in 1976. She resided in Greenwood until July 2006, at which time she moved to Pine Ridge Assisted Loving, Hudson, and later to the Christian Community Home.
She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the WELCA. She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family. Baking, sewing, her flowers, and refinishing furniture.
She will be dearly missed by one daughter, Joanne Wickham, Hudson; two sons, Warren Jackson, Ely, Minn., and Duane Jackson, Madison; five grandchildren, Michael (Jodi) Wickham, Mark Wickham, Anna Jackson, Sara Jackson and Eric Jackson; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Wickham and Mikayla Wickham.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Einae on Oct. 14, 1998; and five brothers, John, Leonard, William, Edward and Reino Kivikko.
