Yakish, Irene (Marriage - 12 July 1958)

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cooks Valley was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Miss Irene Yakish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Yakish of Bloomer and Donald Burr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Burr of Neillsville.  The Rev. Alfred Hommersbach performed the double ring ceremony at the 10 a.m. high Mass.

The bride was attired in a waltz-length dress fashioned with a full skirt and filled bodice.  The bodice was high-lighted by a V-neckline and short sleeves.  She wore wristlets of matching material.  Her finer-tip veil cascaded from a crown of white flowers and pearls and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and rosebuds.

Miss Betty Yakish of Milwaukee was her sister’s attendant.  She wore a Nile green gown of brocaded satin, similar in style to that of the bride.  White carnations and pink rose buds composed her bouquet.

The groom was attended by Donald Knudsen of St. Paul, Minn.

Following the nuptial Mass a 12 o’clock dinner was served in Bloomer for members of the immediate families.  A reception was held later at the home of the bride’s parents.

Those attending the wedding from Neillsville were: Mr. and Mrs. Ray Burr and daughters, Donna and Delores; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kronberger and son, Mark; and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Burr and Nick Freund.  Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burr of Hewitt also attended.
