Reineking, Margaret (19 JULY 1947)

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the Methodist Episcopal church in Spencer at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 19, by the Rev. Raymond Fleming, when Miss Margaret Ann Reineking of Spencer, and Vernon Stevens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stevens of the town of Sherman, exchanged marriage vows.

The bride chose an off-white ninon, fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, with a modified Queen Anne collar of ruching. A full skirt with a train edged with a wide band of ruching fell from a close fitting bodice. Her fingertip veil was of illusion and was held in place by a brim encircled with orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of pink roses and white gladioli.

The maid of honor, Miss Pauline Reineking, sister of the bride, wore white net over white satin. Mrs. John Reineking of Milwaukee, the bride’s sister-in-law, was bridesmaid, and her gown was also of white ninon. Both attendants carried bouquets of white gladioli and pink roses, and they wore rhinestone bracelets, gifts of the bride.

The groom’s attendants were his friend, Robert Speich of Greenwood, as best man, and John Reineking of Milwaukee, brother of the bride.

The bride’s mother witnessed the wedding in an afternoon frock of rose and black print and wire black accessories, while the groom’s mother was gowned in a brown crepe and wore gold accessories. Both mothers wore carnation corsages.

A reception for 200 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents, and at 5 o’clock a wedding dinner was served in the beautifully decorated dining hall of the Methodist church. The color scheme of pink and white streamers, baskets of garden flowers and ferns and pink and white candles was used.

The bridal couple left immediately after the reception for Columbus, Ga., where they will visit Mr. and Mrs. William Schaeffner. They will be at home in the town of Sherman after Aug,\. 15.

The groom is a graduate of the Loyal high school with the class of 1943. He saw service with the U.S. paratroopers in World War ll and is at present employed by the Spencer Co-op Oil Company. His bride is a graduate of the Athens high school and Wood County normal school and taught the third and fourth grades in the Spencer public school last year. She has again been engaged to teach there this year.

Those from away who were present at the wedding included: Mr. and Mrs. J. Reineking, William and Richard Reineking, Kathleen Brehm and Warren Lundwall, all of Waupaca; Carl and Arthur Weiss of Stillwater, Minn.; Mrs. Vera Neubauer of Menomonie; Andrew Weiss of Racine; Mrs. Mable Austin and Price and Rollo Welsh of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. Paul Sutherland and Mrs. Herman Seers of Milwaukee.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
