Last Wednesday afternoon a sad story came to a sad ending during a trial before Justice Campman.  The trial was held to determine the parent of an illegitimate child born to Clara Gorselitz, the 15-year-old daughter of Fred Gorselitz, and in which George Lockbram was made the defendant.  Near the close of the proceedings the young mother discovered that her baby had died in her arms, and the trial came to an abrupt recess.  The young mother and baby hurried to the doctor’s office, where the sad story was verified.  Just what caused the death of the baby is not known, but it is probable that the little one was not very strong and had succumbed to the intense heat in the courtroom.  The dead child was taken home and was buried Friday.  In the conclusion of the trial, Lockbram was acquitted.
