Deets, Byron (11 MAR 1912-20 SEPT 1947)

 

Byron J. Deets, 35, a former resident of Clark county, died suddenly at his home in Marshfield early Saturday morning, Sept. 20, of coronary thrombosis.

 

Mr. Deets was born in Richland Center on Mar. 11, 1912, was the son of Omar and Emma Pizer Deets. When he was five years old, he came with his parents to a farm near Loyal. He attended Loyal high school and lived here until 1937, when he moved to Marshfield.

 

On Jan. 20, 1932, he was married to Inez Castner. In 1942 they went west, and he entered the army and served in the air force until 1946. He was a member of the order of Eagles.

 

A son died in infancy, and his mother died in 1941. He is survived by his wife, his father, and his step mother, who reside in Marshfield. Two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Klimmer of Battle Creek, Mich., and Mrs. Herbert Herdrich of Flint, Mich., also survive.

 

Funeral services were conducted last Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. Lee H. Holmes in charge of the 1:30 services at the Hansen funeral home in Marshfield and the 2:30 services at the Loyal Methodist church. Buril took place in the Loyal cemetery, where the American Legion conducted military rites.

 

During the services "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere: and "In the Garden" were sung by James and Raymond Colby; Mrs. Calvin Prior and Mrs. R. A. Prior, with Donna Mae Gotter as accompanist.

 

Pallbearers were Alex Davel, Raymond Neuman, Jerome Bertz, W. A. LaRocque, Lester Kiehl and Russell Lewallen. Flowers were carried by Grace Hartnett, Caroll Heinze, Betty Rudie, Dorothy Rydeberg, Gertrude Grambow, Dorothy Hardinger, Julie Huenscher and Gertrude Davel.

 

Out of town people at the rites included: Mr. and Mrs.  Art Klimmer and children, Harold, Jerry and June, of Battle Creek, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert herdrich of Flint, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Grover Deets, Fred Deets, B. J. Deets, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Deets, Mrs. Villa Mosher, Clement Mosher, F. H. Mosher, Willard Mosher, Mrs. Emma Harris and Mrs. Foster Truesdale, all of Richland county; Mr. and Mrs. Merton Davis and son, Harlan, of Gary, Ind; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Spry and family and William Dankemyer of Chili.

 

The Tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a beloved husband, son, and brother.
