Thiemicke, Betty (27 OCT 2010)

The former Betty Thiemicke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thiemicke of Medford, was escorted down the aisle by her father and given in marriage to Glen Creg, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Creg, City (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), on Saturday, the 27th of October, at three o’clock in the afternoon.

Miss Thiemicke and Mr. Creg exchanged vows in a double ring ceremony before the Rev. Engel of the Zion Lutheran Church, Medford, before an altar decorated with gold, turquoise and white mums.

For her wedding the bride wore a lovely bridal gown of waltz length with net lace over bridal satin and lace inserts in the full skirt.  The molded bodice of lace styled with a Mandarin collar, long, lace sleeves tapered to points over the wrists and fastened with tulle covered satin buttons.

The bridal veil of imported French silk illusion in fingertip length secured to a crown of net with an edge of trimmings and sequins and pearls.  She carried a spray of red roses.

Betty chose two young ladies to be her attendants, they being Mrs. David (Gwen) Shields and Miss Janice Creg.  The attendants were gowned in identically styled waltz length gowns of chiffon bodices and net over taffeta skirts.  They wore dainty bandeaus trimmed with pearls and shoes to match their gowns.  Gwen served her sister as matron of honor and wore a gown of turquoise while Miss Creg, sister of the groom, had the role of bridesmaid.  Her gown was old gold in color.  Each carried colonial bouquets of mums in colors to match their gowns.

Teddy Czeshinski of Milwaukee served his friend as best man, with the groomsman being Raymond Wry, also of Milwaukee.  Performing the duties of ushers were Jerry Miller, Owen and Richard Mikolajczyk, Medford.  The gentlemen all wore tuxedos.

Dinner was served immediately following the ceremony at the church parlors to about 100 guests.

Mrs. Creg is a graduate of the Medford High School and is also a graduate of the School of Beauty Culture of Milwaukee, and is employed in that city.  Mr. Creg is a graduate of the Owen High School and is employed at Inland Container Co., Milwaukee.

Guests were from Milwaukee, Abbotsford, Minneapolis, Greenwood, Medford, Owen and Withee.
