Spencer, Wisconsin

 

George Hayward was a Marshfield caller Saturday.

 

Irene Heath and Ina Damon did Marshfield Friday afternoon.

 

Frank Backus of Marshfield came up Saturday to remain a few days.

 

Tom Creighton of Marshfield was a guest of George hayward Sunday.

 

Effie Williams went to Marshfield Friday and visited Friends until Saturday.

 

The W.C.T.U. held a gospel temperance meeting at the M.E. church Sunday evening.

 

Mrs. J.E. Kennedy and Janet of Rib Lake came Wednesday to spend a few days with relatives.

 

Lionna Blaisdell came home Saturday morning from her school at Abbotsford for a week’s vacation.

 

The Lyric Club met Saturday evening with Effie Williams and enjoyed a very pleasant meeting.

 

Mrs. Bodle came down from Medford Saturday to spend some time looking after her interests here.

 

Chas. Dodge of Chippewa Falls was in town Thursday. His parents lived here when he was a child.

 

Hulda Wendel, Mabel Langdon and Lena Ehlers attended teachers’ examination at Unity last week.

 

Mr. O’Connell, representing the Northern Grain company spent Saturday and Sunday in our village.

 

A.F. Minett and family arrived Tuesday with their household goods from Walworth county and are now on the Bodle farm.

 

Rev. Stair of Medford assisted Rev. Stewart Wednesday and Thursday evenings in the meetings. The meetings closed Friday evening.

 

Mrs. G.H. Reas, accompanied by her son Bert, went to Moon Friday to visit relatives. She will also visit at Marathon City before she returns.

 

J.E. Kennedy came down from Rib Lake Saturday and left Monday for Washington where he goes with his father with a view to settling there.

 

Mrs. Thos. Welsh returned Saturday from a four months’ stay at Meridian, Miss. The south is all right for some folks but not for Mrs. Welch. She prefers Spencer, Wis.
