Mogensen, Theodore (9 NOV 1881 - 20 MAY 1957)

 

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, May 23rd, at 2 p.m. from the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, Wis., for Theodore Mogensen who passed away at the Victory Hospital at Stanley on Monday, May 20th, 1957.  He had been in poor health for the past three months, and death was due to a heart attack.

 

Rev. Clayton Nielsen officiated at the funeral services.  Mary Catura rendered a solo, with Louise Hansen at the organ.  Interment was in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers were Viggo Rasmussen, Albert Jensen, Christ Christophersen, Peter Christophersen, Art Leino and Chris Mose.  Flower girls were Inga Larsen, Alfa Holm, Helene Beck and Francis Sorenson.

 

Theodore Mogensen was born Nov. 9, 1881, in Copenhagen, Denmark.  He came to the United States on March 1, 1906.  On Feb. 3, 1909, he was united in marriage to Marie Hanson at Seward, Nebraska.  They came to Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) that same year and since then he has made his home here.  He was a member of the Danish Brotherhood Lodge and of the Nazareth Lutheran Church.

 

He is survived by his wife, one son Harry of Chicago, and four daughters, Mrs. Paul (Ellen) Tomich of Withee, Mrs. James (Agnes) Peterson of Longwood, Mrs. James (Rigmor) Steffens of Chicago, Mrs. Anton (Gerda) Vaitonis of Highland Park, Ill., and eight grandchildren.  Five brothers preceded him in death.

 

Out of town relatives attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mogensen of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mogensen of St. Peter, Minn.
