Thomas, Daniel (1954 - 14 FEB 1956)

The 17-month-old son of a rural Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) couple died Tuesday night, Feb. 14, 1956, at Madison of a skull fracture received while playing at home, Clark County Coroner John Bergemann, Neillsville, reported last Thursday.  The death was listed as accidental.

Daniel Thomas was playing in another room with his sister, Charlene, three and one-half, and a brother, Robert, two and one-half, when his mother heard the thud of the boy’s head striking the floor and a faint cry.

He was taken to a doctor at Greenwood and then to the hospital at Neillsville.  At 8:00 p.m. he was taken to Wis. General Hospital at Madison where he died at 11:40 p.m.  An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be a skull fracture.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Rev. H. F. Brauer officiating.  Burial was made in Ontario Cemetery.
