Lynn Mutual Insurance (12 June 1928)

Tuesday afternoon the Lynn Mutual Fire Insurance Company held its fiftieth annual stockholders meeting and the Lynn Mutual Cyclone Company held, its twenty-second annual meeting. There was a fair attendance of stockholders considering the rainy weather and a number of surrounding farmers who were attending the funeral of Herbert Counsell.

Both companies show a steady and healthy growth.  The Fire Insurance Company’s policies now cover $24,942,601 and the Cyclone Company $16,178,297.

The territory covered by the Fire Company is all of Clark County and the towns of Lincoln and Rock in Wood County.

A resolution was presented and adopted at the meeting to take four more townships in Marathon County along the boundary line, which squares out the territory covered.  The charter will be amended accordingly.

In the Fire Company, Ed Sternitzky, Wm. Kurth, and John P. Kintzele whose terms as directors expired were re-elected for three years; and in the Cyclone Company Henry Sternitzky, Wm. Vollrath and Geo. A. Ure, were re-elected directors for three years.

At the directors meeting in the Fire Company Mr. Vollrath resigned as director, later also resigning as director in the Cyclone Company  to which he was elected last year.  His health has not been good and he has frequently expressed the wish to be relieved of all official duties.  Ernest Vollrath, his son, was appointed by the directors to fill out his father’s term in each office.  In the Fire Company A. M. Steinwand was elected president, John Verkuilen, Vice President, John P. Kintzele, Treasurer and Geo A. Ure, Secretary.

In the Cyclone Company Henry Sternitzky was elected President, A. M. Steinwand, Vice President, A. F. Dankemyer, Treasurer and Geo A. Ure, Secretary.
