Schuette, Arlene  (19 June 1948)

Now residing at the home of her parents, on route one, Unity, are Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Schulz, who were married at theZion Evangelical Lutheran church in Colby on June 19.

Mrs. Schulz, the former Arlene D. Schuette is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Schutette of Unity. The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schulz of Colby. The Rev. M. C. Goetsch officiated at the ceremony.

The bride’s sister, Miss Ethyl Schuette, was maid of honor, and the groom’s brother, Donald Schulz was best man. Other attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Julius Schulz of Colby, brother and sister-in-law of the groom, and Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Schuette of unity, brother and sister-in-law of the bride.

Her full length veil, edged with wide lace, was caught to a seed pearl tiara. Her bouquet consisted of red roses, sweet peas and swansonias.

The maid of honor was dressed in orchid taffeta, the bridesmaids in yellow and lime green, respectively. All were fashioned in a hoop skirt design and picked up in three different places with flowers of the same material. They carried bouquets of pink and yellow carnations.

Dinner was served to 130 guests at the home of the bride’s parents, and a reception was held there. In  the evening a dance was given at Walter’s Pavillion, near Colby.
