Reineking, Bernelda  (19 JUNE 1948)

MADISON- The chapel of the First Congregational church was the scene Saturday, June 19, of the wedding of Miss Bernelda Elaine Reineking, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Reineking of Doylestown, and Robert Elmer Nordness of Madison. The Rev. David Maitland performed the ceremony. Baskets of pink, white and rose peonies decorated the chapel for the services.

White marquisette formed the billowing overskirt and train of the bride’s hoop-skirted gown of slipper satin, styled with an off-the-shoulder yoke of marquisette. A bonnet headdress of Chantilly lace held her fingertip veil, which was bordered with the same lace. A white orchid with a shower of stephanotis covered the white Bible which she carried. Her father gave her in marriage.

Mrs. F. Thomas Cruse of Van Nuys, Cal, sister of the bridegroom, was the Matron of honor. Her bustle-backed gown of white Celanese was worn over a crinoline skirt. Her floral headdress matched her bouquet of red roses and rosebuds.

Miss Jeanne Massey, the bridesmaid, wore a similar gown of white mousselline-de-soie. Her flowers were like those carried by Mrs. Cruse.

Harold Reineking, brother of the bride, attended Mr. Nordness as best man. The guests were ushered to their places by Deane Page and George Singer.

Mrs. Reineking appeared in an aqua suit dress. The bridegroom’s mother chose to wear a gray frock. Each had a white rose corsage.

A reception  for 150 guests was held in Guild room of the church. On the night before the wedding, a dinner was served to members of the wedding party at the Blackhawk Country club. Misses Joyce and Janice Trindal of Loyal, twins and childhood friends of the bride, assisted at the reception.

When the bride left the city, she was wearing a grey-beige gabardine suit. The newlyweds plan to honeymoon in northern Wisconsin, after which they will go to Denver, Col.

The couple will be at home at 409 West Wilson street after July 5. The bride, who has been teaching at Middleton, plans to continue her teaching in the fall. Mr. Nordness, who attended the University of Wisconsin, is now employed at the Madison municipal airport.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gray of Loyal, and most off her

girlhood was lived here.

The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
